You may feel that you cannot afford the time to sit for a portrait. Initially, I like to meet the person sitting for the portrait and during this first meeting, discuss the preferred medium, pencil, pastel or oil, the most appropriate pose and spend time taking a series of photographs from which I can then work.
My intention is that your finished portrait will be a translation of the photograph whilst retaining the warmth and immediacy of that personal contact.
If the commission is for a surprise or a present it is possible for me to work from existing photographs.
On completion, your portrait will be delivered in a plain mount, ready for framing, which I leave for you to arrange. However I am very happy to give advice and make recommendations about the framing available.
